🤔Pavlov’s Dogs
Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849–1936) was a physiologist, who did a study on his dog and see how the dog react when he give the dog food to eat.
Pavlov was not a psychologist, but he found a great experimental conclusion that is remarkable.
Pavlov first gives his dog food to eat and then sees what happens. He found that when he was placing food on him, he started to salivate. He kept doing this for a long time.
To take the experiment to the next step and easily understand what was happening, he rang a bell before placing the food.
He started to ring a bell before placing the food, after a few rounds Pavlov found that when he rang the bell the dog started to salivate.
The dog started to salivate when they rang the bell and didn’t give the food.
Here the Pavlovian condition or classical condition was discovered, when you place a cue (ring) to the body will respond (salivate). The dog doesn’t learn to salivate whenever they place the food but they found that when they rang the bell or the dog listened to the footsteps of Pavlov or his assistant.
You can use experiments to build any habit or remove any bad addiction. You have to find the cue and what was your response. Like I have a bad habit of checking my phone after just waking up.
So I just place my device far away from my bed so that when I wake up and search phone and I have to make move to find the phone. I make it difficult to check the smartphone.
This way you can build or break a habit.

When people see a mountain, far away from them. People say,
how small the mountain is!
When they approach the mountain they actually visualize the size.
Same with other's problems from outside.
