The creator makes their content with passion and hard work. Give us knowledge and happiness. I unsubscribe all 60 creators those I emotionally attached to them and take lots of insides from their wisdom and life.
Generally, lots of people including me go to youtube because they are used to it or are honestly addicted to it.
When they open the home page they dive into a world where algorithms make decisions and play around with visitors’ psychology and emotion.
There are lots of times when I go to youtube to search for something important but when I see some thumbnails on youtube, my mind is usually attached to those because the algo knows me well than any other else.
what did I love to watch? Which creator do I never miss any video? or What are my interests?
That's a good thing for some time to get distracted by videos you love to watch, but sometimes people felt it like a rabbit hole.
Usually using the time of this app is the same for me. I noticed I watch at the same time every day. And also noticed when I open my mobile phone my finger automatically tab on the internet button and then on the youtube app.
That's INSANE!
When we do something every day with a specific pattern that makes a habit loop (Which I discussed in a previous post).
I ask you an honest question: when you open something on youtube did you get value from it — or from all videos you watch?
NO! I absolutely agree we learn lots of things on youtube but not always — not from all videos.
Why?
To understand this you can watch the social dilemma — a documentary about how social media makes us fool using algos and AI.
When you open you scroll all the way long to find the best video for you to watch at that moment after that then you see another video from the same channel or a related video from another — then the human behavior and your habit pattern want to see those videos all — and it becomes a cycle.
Charles Duhigg explains the habit loop and how habits are formed.
For that reason users are attached to the app — In general, we will find this on every single app.
That's why I chose to unsubscribe those creators — and that does not mean that I hate the creators. when I need to watch then I will watch.
PS: I subscribed to all those creators within 2-3 days, because I love them so much. :)
